This post will provide a place for the training schedule :
For those of you out there who have come this far in your search for your underwater adventures, just one more small step is all that is needed. Get in touch and your SCUBA adventures can begin.

Divers wishing to learn or continue their training

The 2014 pool sessions are well underway with a new diver intake starting their Ocean diver syllabus. If you are interested in learning to dive then your first step is to contact the Diving Officer or come and meet with us on a Wednesday evening for a social chat to find out who we are and what we do.

This year we are gearing up to take divers as young as 16 but be aware you still have to be able to travel to the pool and carry heavy equipment around

Monthly Open water training sessions available: We are active participants at the Southern Scotland BSAC Diver Training Program taking both students and Instructors to these events. These training days are useful for both students and instructors to practice and review current skills within a larger regional context which ensures that our standards and skills remain current.

More advanced training is available and this year we are hoping to take divers through the Diver Leader and Advanced Diver syllabus. We also have divers who have register for and are actively pursuing their First Class Diver qualification.

Club divers

We have a strong intake of divers that have trained with other organisations and we are happy to accommodate diver from PADI having satisfied ourselves that they have good safety skills and capable of performing basic rescue techniques. Where additional training is required we are happy to provide this free of charge once you have joined our club

More advanced training for club members

There is also a growing list of skills development courses (SDCs) and in club training that our certified instructors are able to offer to our club members, these include:

Accelerated Decompression Procedures (ADP)
Buoyancy and Trim Workshop
Drysuit workshop
Compressor Operation

and new for 2014

Equipment maintenance

these courses are run on a cost recovery basis which means that you pay for any BSAC SDC training pack and certification and any consumables or reasonable expenses incurred. These are not provided on a commercial basis and as such represent a very reasonable and cost effective way of gaining new diving skills
